Stage Directions Theatreworks artists and teens began working together in August 2002. In 2002-2003, the troupe performed at five South Lane School District schools for a total of seven performances of "The Secrets in the Toy Room." Artists and teens also held workshops for other middle and high school students interested in theater.

Shelly A. Davey and Gil T. Rodello act as the lead artists for the troupe.
