Pleasant Hill 21st Century Community Learning Center's Salmon Project

a TeenARTS project

Ten Pleasant Hill students in grades 8-12 have sculpted a piece of art to display in their own community! Using the themes of environment and salmon, each student worked with artist Debbe Cornitius to carve a piece of soapstone to add to the artwork. The final sculpture depicts a school of fish.

The artwork was unveiled on July 11, 2002 at the Cascade Foothills Library in Dexter.

This project was developed through YouthArts, a program of Lane Arts Council, in partnership with Debbe Cornitius and the Pleasant Hill 21st Century Learning Center. Supported by funds from the NEA, Oregon Arts Commission, Meyer Memorial Trust, Ford Family Foundation, Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation, U.S. Bancorp Foundation, The Collins Foundation, and June and Julian Foss Foundation.
