McKenzie Community
Track and Field Mural
a TeenARTS project

|
51480 Blue River Drive in Vida
Take Hwy 126 to Blue River Drive. Go approximately 1/2 mile past the McKenzie School, turn right and take the yellow gated driveway that goes to the track.
Four teens and artists Omer Dawson and Pam Fallon painted an outdoors and track themed mural on an 8'x40' storage shed located at the site of the new McKenzie Community Track and Field on Blue River Drive. The shed will house equipment for the new track. Painting was done in June and July 2005. The mural was unveiled in September 2005.
"This project reflects the ideals of the surrounding community. There are always new things to notice each time you look at the mural. The continuous track that wraps around the mural is a representation of life and seasons coming full circle. It will be an eye-catcher at every event held at the track." - Pam Fallon
This was a collaborative effort among YouthArts, a program of Lane Arts Council, Omer Dawson, Pam Fallon, McKenzie School District, McKenzie Arts Forum, McKenzie Watershed Council, and McKenzie Community Track and Field.
