Taking images from the local environment, artists Jamye Smith and Kari Mais and eight teen artist apprentices used various materials, including artwork from other Florence youth, to create a mural on four panels. The artwork represents the diverse environment around Florence. It is now on permanent display at Siuslaw Middle School.

The project was supported by YouthArts, a program of Lane Arts Council, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Lane County, with funding from Trust Management Services LTD, David Capen, and the Western Lane Community Foundation through the Florence Arts and Crafts Association.
