Babes on Broadway, performed by the Youth Community Musical Theatre, was featured at Actors Cabaret of Eugene on March 6, 7, 9, 14, 15, and 16, 2003.

Two assemblies were held at Spencer Butte and Roosevelt middle schools in Eugene in April and May 2003. Spencer Butte also had an after-school theatre workshop led by the teen performers.

Four teens from the Youth Community Musical Theatre took the initiative to produce this show. They recruited adult artist support when needed. This was a youth directed performance!

Babes on Broadway was developed in partnership by Youth Community Musical Theatre, Actors Cabaret of Eugene, 4J School District, Dance Theatre of Oregon, and YouthArts, a program of Lane Arts Council. The project was supported by funds from the Oregon Community Foundation through Lane Arts Council, and from in-kind donations from Joe Zingo, Vicki Brabham, Sherry Sterling, Katherine Cowsill, and Actors Cabaret.
