Music cd with ACCHORD Music Mentorship at Station 7

a TeenARTS project

Lane Arts Council provided support to ACCHORD for the creation of a cd with youth from Station 7 in Eugene. The cd, Fountain of Youth, was completed in June 2004.

ACCHORD Music Mentorship Program, run by David Helfand and Bob Clayton, offers music lessons to in-risk youth at Looking Glass Station 7. Music teachers give instruction in guitar, bass, keyboard, and more. Participants are offered a free instrument following a significant amount of lessons, with the hope that they will develop a long term appreciation for music and will find a constructive outlet for creativity and self-expression.

The Fountain of Youth Station 7 cd project was a collaborative effort among ACCHORD Music Mentorship, YouthArts, a program of Lane Arts Council, and Looking Glass Station 7. The project was supported by funds from Meyer Memorial Trust, Ford Family Foundation, Greenville Foundation, U.S. Bank/U.S. Bancorp Foundation, and community and project partners.
