Performance Assemblies
Performing artists and ensembles from a variety of cultures and artistic disciplines provide lively entertainment, enrichment, and arts education. Performance Assemblies are 35-45 minutes in length and often include an interactive discussion period.
- Alseny Yansane & Andrea DiPalma Yansane — West African dancing and drumming with lively audience participation and hands-on music making.
- Christopher Leebrick — National award-winning storyteller offers world folk-tales, original stories, narrative poetry, whoppers and jump-tales.
- Shanti Shivani — Classical vocal music from Northern India (ragas) and songs and chants from different traditions as well as improvisational music.
- Paul Prince — World music on guitar and harp involves melodic and intriguing instrumental traditions from Spain, Ireland, North America, India and Japan.
- Kelly Thibodeaux — Original fiddle-based Louisiana dance music and swamp rock, accompanied by guitar, and highlighted by snapping stories from bayou country.
- Maggie Matoba and Iron Mango Orchestra — Hawaiian music ensemble performs traditional and contemporary songs with acoustic and percussive instruments.
- Leanne Mizzoni — Professional dancer teaches students to enjoy and experience the art of movement and physical expressive skills.
- Musical Feet Youth Tap Company — Musical Feet youth tap dancers demonstrate the classic tap steps from tap's heyday as well as the rhythm tap that is popular today.
