YouthArts engages young people and educators in meaningful, high-quality arts experiences guided by professional visual, performing, and literary artists. For over 30 years, Lane Arts Council has impacted thousands of young people throughout Lane County.
Numerous research studies show that students' engagement in the arts has a positive, far-reaching influence on standardized test scores, social skills, and critical, creative thinking. Our goal is to help schoolchildren develop these skills while promoting a profound understanding and life-long appreciation of the arts.
Lane Arts Council's YouthArts programs in 2012-2013 include the following:
- Artist Residencies
- Performance Assemblies
- After-School Programs in partnership with Lane ESD with the Junction City, Oakridge and McKenzie school districts.
- EcoArts Residencies in conjunction with Camas Educational Network
