Youth Tap Dance Company

  • Musical Feet tap dancers demonstrate the classic tap steps from tap's heyday as well as the rhythm tap that is popular today. During a tap dance assembly, they perform tap routines to a variety of musical styles: jazz ranging from early 20th century to the current day, rhythm and blues ranging from the 1980s to the present, and current pop and hip hop sounds. The dancers will perform memorized choreography as well as spontaneous improvisation. The performers include youth from age six through teens as well as professional level adult dancers.
  • Jeanette Frame (Director) is the founder/director of Musical Feet School of Dance (established 1979), Eugene's premiere center for tap dance training and performance. She has taught thousands of people of all ages to tap dance and has directed numerous student and professional level tap dance companies. Under her direction, Musical Feet has hosted several internationally known tap dance artists for workshops, performances, residencies, and lecture demonstrations. She directed her student tap dance companies in school assemblies in several Lane County schools, from 1994-1999. Her training began at age five in Portland, Oregon, and has continued throughout her life, including continually studying with internationally recognized tap dance masters.
  • Adam Kelly (Assistant Director) began his dancing career at the age of two in his family-owned dance studio in Portland, Oregon. He has studied a variety of dance forms, but tap has always been his favorite. His performance credits include Disneyland, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Oregon Symphony and in Oregon Ballet Theater's The Nutcracker. He has taken several master tap classes and attended two Vancouver (Canada) Tap Festivals.
