Lisa Mischke — Choral Music

  • Lisa Mischke has over 30 years experience in music and experimental theater. Since receiving her degree in vocal and choral music in 1997 she has directed church, school, and community choirs. She has completed Level 1 Certification in the Orff Schulwerk method of music education. She was a conductor with the award-winning Contra Costa Children's Chorus in California, and particularly enjoys integrating choral music with movement and theater. In 2009 she had the pleasure of conducting Carmina Burana, with a cast of 30 fire-dancers, at the Oregon Country Fair. She has studied choral conducting on the graduate level in both Oregon and California, and participated in the Youth Choral Academy Choral Teachers track at the Oregon Bach Festival in 2010.
  • Students will experience the joy of singing together and learn that many voices can join to become more powerful than one voice alone. They will learn how to use their voices in healthy ways, and for third grade and up, to sing in harmony while holding their own part. By the end of our time together, the students will be able to confidently sing beautiful music as part of a vocal community. They will be empowered to present their work as a gift to their school community, or to simply know the joy of singing with each other.
