April 7: Lane Arts Council First Friday ARTWalk

Come join in the festivities April 7 for the First Friday ARTWalk with host, Mary Unruh. Mary has been executive director of DIVA (Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts) since August 2004 and is a passionate advocate for the Arts. This month sponsors are 94.9 Success Radio, KVAL Television, Mirage Digital Art, and Eugene Weekly!

The walking tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Gallery!

Lane Arts Council’s First Friday ArtWalk provides a free monthly walking tour of downtown Eugene’s art galleries and arts attractions. Lane Arts Council is a non-profit arts organization supporting artists and the arts in Lane County.

STOP #1: Jacobs Gallery, lower level of the Hult Center

Features the exhibit “Double Vision” by collaborative artists Terri Warpinski and Garry Fritz as well as Gina Rubin Cody, Shelley Foster, John Holmgren, Lorri Nelson, Kurt Norlin and Michael Sherwin.

Stop #2: White Lotus Gallery, 767 Willamette St.

This stop highlights photographer Gary Tepfer. His recent work is taken through his travels in the Pacific Northwest, the Southwest and Mongolia.

Stop #3: La Folette, 931 Oak St.

Presents the opening reception for Anna S. Horrigan, local pastel painter from Ashland, Oregon.

Stop #4: New Zone Gallery, 975 Oak Alley

Features exhibit “Fools and Fantasy” that displays more than 30 artists that challenge perceptions of the world. The show also emphasizes experimental work.

Stop #5: D.I.V.A., 110 W. Broadway

An exhibit named “Autism Rocks! Autism Artism 2006” with artists Melissa Dahl, Carl Kinney, Frank Flanders, Kwame Minta and Mary Minn Sirag.
