BACKGROUND
"The City of Eugene is convening a process to look at the needs of arts and cultural organizations in Eugene to develop an action-oriented arts and cultural plan that focuses primarily on downtown Eugene. Part of the impetus for this effort is the need for a cultural facilities master plan and better collaboration among cultural organizations. Additionally, this process provides an opportunity to create a more cohesive image of Eugene's cultural scene that will help promote Eugene as a place where the arts flourish."

ABOUT CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS
The April 21 meeting marks the third in a series of regional Creative Conversations exploring common interests and concerns for the arts in our community. Creative Conversations began as an initiative of Americans for the Arts, the national arts advocacy organization. In the Eugene area, interested community members and representatives from more than thirty local arts organizations have participated in Creative Conversations. Previous Conversations have focused on sharing the arts with the widest possible audience, advocating for the arts in our community, tackling barriers to collaboration, and establishing a concrete action plan for future work.
Past Creative Conversations have been supported by: Lane Arts Council; City of Eugene Cultural Services/Hult Center; DIVA; University of Oregon Cultural Forum.
