As the educational division of Oregon Festival of American Music (OFAM), the American Music Institute (AMI) offers aspiring area musicians of all ages classes year-round in Jazz, Classical and Popular Music Studies. AMI's summer camps and academies offer young musicians an extraordinary opportunity to study and perform American music in a professional setting with professional musicians, along with dynamic Elderhostel programs. Sponsors of Eugene Youth Symphonies and Community Performing Arts School. The Eugene Youth Symphonies include four orchestras designed for students in grade five through age 21. String Academy classes are also offered for beginning string players. The Community Performing Arts School provides instruction in music theory, vocal, music, drama and dance.
